storia

Fred Jerbis stands for “Federico’s Herbs”. We have chosen a name of Friulian origin to give the right emphasis and importance to our territory, which is crucial to the creation of our products. All this project originates from Fred’s passion for plants and nature. At first, it would arise during the hikes through the woods in Carnia, while studying and picking botanicals and officinal herbs.
Then, starting to grow spices in neighboring fields and, finally, experimenting different extraction techniques to create essential oils of timeless fragrance. Only in 2014 the first laboratory was established, in which the harvested plants turn into infusions and spirits. That is how we started a period of research and testing in the world of spirits, which led us to the conception of our triptych, Gin – Bitter – Vermouth, and still goes on.

VISIONE

FJ is a research and experimentation project in the world of spirits and liquors.

To create original products, we believe that we first and foremost need a different and ever changing point of view, not taking anything for granted but always trying to look at things from a new perspective.

The philosophy of FJ project is based on three points:

SIMPLE IN ITS COMPLEXITY

The common characteristic of all our products is that they are balanced and easy to drink but, at the same time, rich in scents and hues. That is because we use several ingredients and various processes for each product, which implies a certain degree of complexity in their production; however, at the same time, our drinks result extremely simple, even when drunk neat.

TRADITIONAL IN ITS INNOVATION

To create our spirits, we have drawn inspiration from a book of classic Italian liquorology, dated 1946, precisely because we feel deeply bound to the tradition and culture of the past. At the same time, we are convinced that without research and experimentation it is impossible to produce anything of quality.


LOCAL IN ITS GLOBALITY

We are profoundly bound to our territory because it is crucial to the creation of our products, but we seek to keep a wide and international approach because, proud of our land, we want to spread its splendor and magic all around the world.
